Green Drive

Tuesday, 7th December, 2010.

If we talk about greenery then Greater Noida tops among all the National Capital Region towns (NCR), including Delhi. Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has planned to plant 10 lakh trees by March 2011.
Till now, they have planted 5 lakh trees along the roads and parks in the city. This plan has witnessed active participation by residents of various resident welfare associations and students of different colleges. The GNIDA teams have supervised and assisted people in taking proper care of these plants.
I really find it amazing.
I am happy to see that a city has taken up the initiative to save our environment and is on track with its plan.
We being the responsible citizens are not able to control pollution as we can't do without cars, aerosols, cutting trees, smoking and various other things that cause pollution. I know many people want to but untimately, we are unable to do so.

But, if we are not able reduce pollution atleast we can try and plant more trees so that the damage we do everyday to our environment can be balanced.
Every city should get inspired by this brilliant plan started by the GNIDA and should try and encourage the people of their city to work towards saving our environment. It is really needed, atleast for the sake of our future generation!
This green drive has seen a good start and I hope that Greater Noida sets a benchmark for other cities by successfully planting the 10 lakhs trees.
:)
